Wood River Ranch is uniquely located up the Wood River Valley on the border of the Shoshone National Forest. The Wood River Ranch hay fields are the highest irrigated acres in the valley. This creates a natural hot spot for some of the best whitetail deer habitat anywhere. The Ranch manages approximately 10 miles of private ground on the Wood River, and we only offer a select few hunting opportunities each year to manage these river bucks. We hunt in area 116 type 3, archery season is Sept 1 thru Sept 30th and late rifle season Nov 1st thru Nov 30th. These are limited quota deer licenses and require 3-5 preference points to draw. Application dates open Jan 3rd and run thru May 31st with the drawing on June 16th.
